What is the Outdoor Power Equipment Field Test & Opinions Group?
This is a community of professional and consumer outdoor power equipment users interested in sharing their opinions and experiences on their use of outdoor power equipment to help shape future equipment, accessories and replacement parts development. Members of this group may have the opportunity to:
- Try, and provide feedback on, new products as part of a field test
- Take online opinion surveys
- Participate in interviews or group discussions on the phone or in person
- Be observed using your outdoor power equipment at your worksite or home
- Earn points to be redeemed for apparel and other promotional merchandise
- Participate in discussion forums with others on outdoor power equipment

Oregon® brand forestry and lawn and garden products sponsors this group. Blount Inc. is the parent company of the Oregon brand.
Membership and Account
Who is eligible to join?
Professional and consumer users of outdoor power equipment, age 18 and older are eligible to join.
Please note that those working for Blount Inc. or other outdoor power equipment manufacturers and their immediate families are not eligible to join.
How do I join?
Simply answer a few questions about yourself and provide valid contact information, including a valid email address. Once field tests or research opportunities become available you will be notified.
How much does it cost to be a member?
There is no cost to join the Outdoor Power Equipment Field Test & Opinions group, nor to participate in any of the activities.
How many accounts can I have?
You are allowed only one account as a member of this group. Other members of your company or household may join, but only one account per person is allowed.
We do encourage you to refer your co-workers, colleagues, friends and family.
How do I get invited to participate in a field test or a research study?
There’s absolutely nothing you need to do! We review the information you have provided to us to identify people that have the characteristics we need for each field test and research study. If you fit the profile we need, you may be asked a few more questions to clarify your experience, and then invited to take part if you qualify.
At this time all invitations will come via an email invitation, though text invitations may be added in the future for those that opt-in to that mode of communication.
Do I have to complete a specific number of tests or studies to remain a member?
No and we will not terminate your membership for inactivity.
What if I no longer want to be a part of the group?
You may unsubscribe to this group at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the footer of any email that comes from firstname.lastname@example.org or by contacting email@example.com. Please note that by deactivating your account you forfeit any points associated with your account, and your account cannot be reactivated.
How do I update my account information?
To update your account information, first log in and then go to the "my account" tab in the menu. Here you can update your account information. Keep your account as current as possible so that we are able to reach you.
I forgot my password. How do I get a new one?
From the homepage under the "contact us" tab at the top, simply click the link "reset password?" And you will be taken through the process of resetting your password.
Can other people in my company or household join?
Absolutely. While you are allowed to have only one account as a member of this group, other members of your company or household may join. In fact, we do encourage you to refer your co-workers, colleagues, friends and family to the group.
How do I earn points?
You earn points for participating in different activities. The amount of points you’ll earn will depend on the activity you participate in. Prior to participating you will be told how many points a given activity is worth.
How quickly can I get a prize?
You start earning points right away when you sign up. You will receive 100 points for signing up and points each time you participate. Specific activities will offer different amounts of points. Once you have accumulated 1000 points you may redeem your points for gift cards that can be used for Oregon® branded apparel or promotional merchandise or gift certificates to be used on Amazon.com.
How do I know how many points I have?
Once you are logged in, you can access the your balance under "Surveys & Rewards", and then "Rewards & Redemptions" which will show you how many points you have accumulated and options for redeeming points for rewards.
How do I redeem my points?
Once you have accumulated at least 1000 points you are ready to start redeeming your points for gift cards. You may redeem a gift card for either the Oregon branded merchandise site, or Amazon.com. Once you have redeemed your gift codes, please visit either www.oregonmerchandise.com or Amazon.com to select your gift. Any amount over the value of the gift card, including shipping, will need to be paid for by you. Please note that points do not have any cash value and are not redeemable for cash. You do not have to spend all of your points and can save them up or spend as you earn as long as you have a minimum of 1000 points in your account.
I redeemed my points but have not received my reward.
If you redeemed your points for a gift card and have not received an email confirmation of this, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. We'll get the problem resolved as soon as possible.
What happens to my points if I no longer want to participate?
Your rewards will remain in your account as long as your account is active. You must remain a member of the group in good standing or your points will be forfeited. Note that points are not transferrable.
How often will you contact me?
As a member of the Outdoor Power Equipment and Field Test & Opinions Group you will have control over how often we contact you. You may choose your preferences in Account Settings. You can access your information by clicking on the "My Account" tab. You must be logged in to access your account.
Why can't I access the survey link you sent me?
We make every effort to make sure our survey links appear on a single line. In some cases, in your invitation the survey link may be broken into two lines. If that happens, you will need to copy the entire link and paste it into your browser. You may also need to check the following on your computer:
- Enable cookies
- Check that your ISP settings are not blocking the survey
- Remove Adware and/or Spyware from your system
- Make sure your browser is not blocking access to our site
- Make sure your anti-virus settings accept our site
- Check your firewall settings

Why was I disqualified immediately without being asked anything?
If you have been disqualified without being asked any questions, there are a number of reasons this may have occurred:
- We already have enough responses from people with your qualifications. Our system remembers your responses to past survey questions and if we already have enough responses from people like you we will let you know that so that you do not have to answer questions unnecessarily.
- The survey has already been completed by someone using the same internet connection. This can happen when using a shared internet service, as with public WiFi, at a school, library or in your home.
- The study has reached the maximum number of completed surveys and has been closed.

I tried to do a survey but was not allowed in because the survey was closed.
Each of our field tests and research studies run for a defined length of time – from a few days to a few weeks. If you are not receiving your invitations in time to participate you may wish to check back more often or update your contact information with an email address that you check more frequently.
I signed up but have never received any emails. Why?
This could mean that your email provider is flagging our emails as SPAM. You may want to look in your JUNK box to see if they are there. To make sure you receive all of our email communications, please add email@example.com to your list of safe senders, address book, or contact list.
Do you sell my email address or will you put me on any other lists?
We do not sell, trade, rent or make available your personal information, including email address, to any outside third party not involved with the management of this community unless we are legally required to do so by a court decision or public authority.
How do you store and protect my personal information?
All member data collecting during registration and survey participation resides in a state-of-the-art data center that conforms with SOX requirements and that employs comprehensive electronic and physical security.
How will the OPE Field Test & Opinions group contact me?
For the most part you will be contacted using the email address you have provided. On occasion you may also be called on the phone. In the future, we may also text those that have provided mobile phone numbers and agreed to let us do so.
When I enter my password I get an error message. What do I do?
Please double-check your email and password. If you are sure you are entering both correctly, you may need to request a new password.
Can I use any web browser to access the website?
Yes! You can even use your smartphone or tablet to access the site!
I don't see my question here. What do I do?
